Anecdotes

Your narrative essay will tell a story, an anecdote. You've read a number of examples of these types of anecdotes-- stories that draw from personal experience. These anecdotes have conflict, and some resolution of that conflict. They use descriptive writing techniques including showing language and dialogue.

What are some of your stories-- what anecdotes do you have to use as possible storylines (that you can embellish)?   List a number of stories you might tell. Post the list as a response.

Take a few moments to pick the one you'd like to expand on, and reply to your own posting. In your reply, note at least 2-3 conflicts you could develop.

    1. traffic cones suck:
The blizzard took off, my windshield had a blanket of sleet over it. We were driving on us-6 west the 60 mph was strongly cautioned against. In a matter of seconds the car in front of us started to swerve.
      icebreaker:
"Come on', everyone is on the ice!". The ice gave out. The 5 of us lunged backwards. I fell in.

    1. Riding Canyon Roller Coaster in Glenwood Springs

We where in Glenwood and we just noticed the roller coaster up at a hill. It was a spontabous adventure just waiting to happen. I was with my best friend Savannah, my father, and my roommate Jenna. Savannah is terfide of heights and to get to the coster we needed to take iron mountain tramway. Its a small box young to a caple talking 4 people up the mountain. The small stickers explain hard jerks and swings. Once we get there we ask for tickets and the tender gives me my father and Jenna to sign a waver . I just turned 18 and I felt this independence and stress to know no one was responsible if something were to happen.
