One proposal from the readings was about Legalizing gay marriage. Its claim was that gay marriage should be legal because there is a percentage of the population that is made up of gay men or lesbian women. Legalizing the marriages would help society to become more tolerant and make us a more rounded society in regards to accepting everyone no matter their sexuality. There was evidence (warrants) from studies and research. If I remember correctly, there was a survey that some people took as well.
One of the proposals was about not having enough art in schools. The claim is that they should add more art classes to schools. The audience was for parents and concerned citizens. The reasons were that students don't know much about art and can't even identify an important piece of art because of the lack of education the school provides about art. The warrants are students will be able to appreciate art.
One proposal that I remember from the reading was that the city should use bigger light bulbs to in employee parking garages. The claim is to use bigger and brighter bulbs. The reasons are to apply more light to the parking garages.
A proposal is suppose to have a claim and a problem with a solution or "fixable". One of the readings focus on Gay Marriage, and another one focused on educational ideals. The claim was that gay marriage should be legal and the warrants were logistics, along the lines of human rights I think.
the first one was about friends going to have a summer vacation. I can't remember the specifics because I skimmed but I know when making a proposal you want to pick something that isn't to specific or board. You want to have enough evidence and have a issue that can be solved with the least amount of resources. I was also confused on the difference between a warrant and evidence unless a warrant is a type of evidence.
An example from the readings of a proposal would be the licensing of gay marriage. The claim of the proposal was that gay couples were being stripped of their basic marriage rights and that this was unfair and this should change. The reasons were that African Americans battled the same problem and they were successful. Another reason was that homosexuals were people too and that if any other minority was faced with this conflict they would find it an issue as well. Another reason was the author's own personal experience with him and his partner. Warrants from this proposal are the overall idea that the legalization of gay marriage will help all minorities. Although it will benefit homosexuals the most, it will benefit others too.
One of the proposals i remember is of gay marriage with its claim being all sexuality should be allowed to be legally married and it be recognized by the country. The reasons were that the U.S is a nation that has freedom and and equality for all.
A proposal I remember clearly was for the legalization of gay marriage. It claimed that same sex couples should be allowed to legally marry so that they may be legally considered family/next of kin in the event of an emergency, share taxes, and benefit from each others health insurance and employment benefits. It also gave evidence that children growing up with same sex parents are just as mentally and emotionally healthy are other children.
-Joshua Lucero One example of a proposal I remember was the marijuana proposal. Its claim was that marijuana is good for peoples health. A reason it had was that recreational marijuana was good for people with nausea as a symptom. Its evidence was that studies showed that it helped take away the symptom of nausea from patients.
A proposal that was made in the readings was about removing the dam that held all of the Colorado's river water flow because it was affecting the land's natural features. Lake Powell was the body of water that was created from the dam that took out many of the natural features such as shores. The author who decided to make this proposal accomplished what he was asking for and the dam was removed, restoring much of the features that were underwater.
One of the examples that I came across was legalizing gay/lesbian marriage. The reason behind this proposal is that prohibiting gay/lesbian marriage is a violation of human rights, similar to the discrimination of other minority groups such as African Amnericans within America.
I remember the proposal to take down a damn that was capping the Colorado river and destroying ecosystems. It claimed that the ecosystems could be rebuilt if the damn was taken down or let some flow down stream. The main reason was about the number of ecosystems and animals that died because they didn't have the water to survive off of. Additional points include the amount of water loss to evaporation and banks.
One of the proposals was about legalizing gay marriage. It commented that it was more than just a legally binding document and that it offered protection in cases of emergencies. It uses logic to accomplish this.
I don't remember any of the readings but, I recall that a proposal should address a problem and a call to action. There has to be a reasonable problem and a way to fix it or make it better. It should contain a claim, and evidences to support it along with what can we do to resolve it
After analyzing the Proposal Readings, an example of a proposal I remember from the reading is the fact that many schools didn't have art classes in their schools and the claim was to consider adding them to schools.
One of the proposals that stuck out to me was the legalizing gay marriage proposal. The claim that was made was that gar marriage should be legal and they should also be able to have their own family. The warrants were that the U.S is the country of freedom for all.
